Are Site Enhancement scripts secure?

The scripts we ship with the blogbar are extensively tested. However, there are hundreds of third party GreaseMonkey compatible scripts. We cannot guarantee the safety of these scripts. We do not recommend that you install features that weren't bundled with BlogEverywhere Blogbar.

The blogbar lets you install new site enhancement scripts that weren't created or supplied by BlogEverywhere. Some of these features could be dangerous: hackers could write malicious scripts that spy on your surfing habits, insert ads and pop-ups, send you to sites you didn't want to visit, and steal your passwords, all under the guise of a useful feature. Of course, this is also true of Windows applications you install; you need to be careful about what Windows applications and BlogEverywhere Site Enhancements features you install. We'll do our best to help, but ultimately, you're in control.

How do I disable Site Enhancements if I don't want them?

Go to BlogEverywhere menu and select Preferences. From Preferences, uncheck the Enabled option.

How do I install new Site Enhancement scripts?

Go to the BlogEverywhere menu and select Preferences. From Preferences, click on Install button.

How do I know which site enhancement scripts are running on current web page?

Click on drop down menu available on the scripts toolbar button to get a list of scripts.

If you want to disable a script then uncheck the menu item. That script will not get executed the next time you load the current web page.

Do all Mozilla Greasemonkey user scripts work as BlogEverywhere Site Enhancements?

BlogEverywhere Site Enhancements support many Greasemonkey scripts, but there are some incompatibility due to differences between Firefox and Internet Explorer. This requires script authors to know how to write their features to be cross-browser compatible.

Why am I getting errors on some pages I visit after installing the BlogEverywhere Blogbar?

If the error doesn't happen after you disable the script, then one of Site Enhancement scripts is causing the error. Please send us Feedback to let us know about the problem.

BlogEverywhere Hotmail Accelerator

Prefetch Emails from Inbox

As you open your Hotmail Inbox, BlogEverywhere Hotmail Accelerator starts downloading the mails in background. So, while you browse through your inbox, emails are already downloaded and will open in rapidly when you click on them.

Visual Indicator for downloaded messages

The downloaded emails are shown using icon against the email and all messages that are currently being downloaded will have icon.

Prefetch Next and Previous Emails

The script also downloads next and previous emails, so that they will opened as soon as you click on them.

Manually select which emails to download

By default, the script automatically downloads all emails in your Inbox. You can control which emails get downloaded by selecting appropriate menu option

If Automatic is checked, all emails be downloaded automatically. If it is unchecked, email will not be auto-downloaded. To download emails in that case selectively, use once of the Checked, Unchecked, Read, Unread or All options to select emails.

Sign Out with cache cleared

The BlogEverywhere Hotmail Accelerator script does not extend the caching time of the emails beyond what Hotmail has provides themselves. However, if you are accessing Hotmail from public terminals like library computers or cyber cafes then you may wish to remove your downloaded email. This script provides a special Signout option which can be used to make sure your downloaded emails are removed from the browser cache.
